One of the most common questions we get is “Where’s Lakeview” and “How do I get there?” Until recently, there was no good answer besides bribing a friend or taking a lengthy bus ride to Alturas, CA. Now one of our long time supporters, Zach’s Bikes in Klamath Falls, is offering shuttle services to local trails and to the California border for your OTT journey! For most of the west coast, Klamath Falls is conveniently accessible by Amtrak trains, and Zach’s Bikes can take you the rest of the way.
The 12 Best Day Rides of the Oregon Timber Trail
We spent last summer compiling the best day rides in each of the four tiers and came up with something for every skill level. Here we’ve partnered with Travel Oregon and Ride with GPS to provide GPS files, and overview of the riding, and other attractions in each area. Even if bikepacking isn’t your thing, we hope these guides will get you out exploring the state’s best singletrack on two wheels whether it’s for a day or for the whole season!

From Instagram to the OTT: an Oregon Timber Trail Story
As far as Singletrack is concerned, the almost 10 mile descent from Crescent Mountain to the primitive Shedd Camp, was the highlight of the trip for me. Fast, flowy, all rideable, and completely isolated, when you ride this section, you have it completely to yourself. Miles and I both were all smiles as we called it a night at Shedd Camp.

CROSS THE CASCADES - The Oregon Timber Trail Needs Your Help
Over the next two years the OTTA has 6+ miles of new alpine singletrack planned and approved to be built. And trails aren’t cheap—this will cost us roughly $150,000: or $5 for every foot of trail. Can you spare $5 to help us complete these historic and important trail connections through Oregon’s Cascade Range?

Brian Lucido Rides The Oregon Timber Trail
At each resupply (except for Chemult and Sisters), people we met were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the OTT. People in Paisley, Silver Lake, Oakridge, Idhana, and Parkdale all asked us what they could do to make the OTT experience even better. These small communities benefit from tourism, and really seemed to love having bike-packers come through. Feeling so warmly welcomed in each of these communities contributed very positively to our overall enjoyment of the route.
