The small towns the route passes through, large amount of alpine singletrack and people of Oregon and Cascadia were truly special!

Bikepacking is everywhere these days—and for good reason. It’s fun, it’s challenging, and it takes you to places you’ve never seen before. The whole Oregon Timber Trail is a daunting undertaking: most people spend months planning and 2-4 weeks riding the trail. Some even have to quit their jobs. We want to provide bikepacking experiences on the Oregon Timber Trail that are more accessible to a variety of skill levels and doable in a 3-day weekend—all while maintaining the essence of the Tier that they’re exploring.

Our first Tier Loop explores an old indigenous trade route through the Clackamas River watershed in the Hood Tier. It’s a gem, we hope you enjoy it.

HOOD TIER GORGE LOOP

STILETSI AND THE WHITE CRANE

Tie the mighty Columbia River to Mt. Hood through Wasco County’s hill country and the verdant Hood River Valley along ribbons of backcountry singletrack. The mountain, the forest, the prairie, and the river all converge here, creating a varied splendor of geology, flora, fauna, and many layers of human history.

HOOD TIER LOOP

ANAXSHAT PASSAGE

Pedal your way through massive old growth, past bubbling blue pools, around alpine lakes, and along a indigenous explorer’s route on the Oregon Timber Trail. The Anaxshat Passage embodies the trails and backcountry landscapes of the Hood Tier, all easily accessible over a long weekend from the Portland metro area and geared towards a less-experienced mountain biker.
